Sony has confirmed that it's going to roll out later today a brand new PS4 firmware, taking the next-gen console's system software to version 1.52 and improving system stability.

Update: The PS4 firmware is now available for download.

The PS4 came out last month and alongside it Sony released system software update 1.50, which actually turned on a variety of features and mechanics.

After a short time, the company rolled out firmware 1.51, which brought some key fixes to quite a few small issues that were spotted after 1.50.

Now, the company has revealed on Twitter that another console system software update is set to debut later today, December 11.

The new firmware, version 1.52, will "improve system stability," according to Sony, so it's unclear just what problems are fixed by the brand new system software.

Expect more details later today.
