Sony has just rolled out its promised PS4 system software update version 1.75, bringing one major new feature to the new console, in the form of support for 3D Blu-ray discs.

The PS4 came out last November, first in North America and then it was quickly released in many other parts of the world. Since then, Sony has made sure that owners of the console are getting new features via firmware updates.

Now, the latest system software update has just appeared, via Twitter, in the form of version 1.75, which brings one highly awaited feature – 3D Blu-ray support.

While the PS4 supported Blu-ray discs that contained games or movies, it was unable to play the 3D films, unlike the much older PS3 console, which already had such a feature for quite some time.

Unfortunately, no other details have been given about PS4 firmware update 1.75, not even the standard improved stability messages relayed by Sony with practically every new system software version.

The company is also staying quiet about what other features are set to debut for the PS4 with future updates.

Earlier today a report has appeared, saying that Sony wants to focus on features that make it money, instead of solving longstanding requests from users relating to MP3 and video support.
