Valve has just rolled out a brand new update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, finishing the two-year anniversary of the shooter inside the game, while improving maps like Overpass and making a few tweaks to core gameplay mechanics.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is slowly but surely gaining a lot of popularity both as an actual game, with hundreds of thousands of players enjoying it every day via Steam, as well as an eSport, with even more people watching competitions like the recent ESL One Cologne tournament.

Now, a fresh update has just been released by Valve for the game, via Reddit, bringing forth a series of gameplay tweaks to reduce sniper scope blur, to ensure that bullets penetrate and exit materials properly before hitting a player, and a few other things.

What's more, the special "birthday party mode" that was turned on to celebrate the 2-year anniversary of the game has ended, but the Zeus shock gun will remain available in the competitive mode, albeit with a larger price tag of 400.

Some maps have been tweaked by the new update, such as Mirage, Rush, or Insertion, while Overpass has received the biggest changes, following feedback from pro players at ESL One Cologne.

Both the A and B bombsites have seen elements moved around, and as you can see above, a new stencil art was added to the B site referencing the stellar defuse in the middle of a Molotov fire from Fnatic's Olofmeister.

The new CS:GO update is available for download via Steam.
