A Dota 2 player named Cyborgmatt has been looking through the files of the Valve-made test build of the game and has uncovered evidence of the type of content that players might be able to buy via microtransactions when the final version of the game is launched.

The content that can be obtained via real world currency consists of taunts, more announcers, new couriers, more hero items, skins and other objects.

Valve seems to also be working on a system, called Souls, which will improve drop rate bonuses and can also be used to push the player who uses it up the punishment queue.

Dota 2 also seems to have a system of drops that is similar to the crate-based one that Valve has already experimented with extensively for Team Fortress 2.

Dota 2 is at the moment in beta stage and Valve has not yet announced when the full game might be released.

It faces competition from a Blizzard-made Dota and from League of Legends.
