A modder worked some magic and transformed the moba into an arcade racer

While it can be argued that Valve's multiplayer online battle arena game Dota 2 provides a pretty intense competitive experience, a modder decided that it just wasn't enough and took matters into his own hands.

The team-based competitive gameplay dynamics of Dota 2 can be pretty intimidating, so modder and Reddit user bmddota took it upon himself to customize the popular strategy game in a way that makes it more accessible to the general public, by transforming the title into something that looks like an isometric version of Mario Kart.

Titled Dota Dash, the mod even has a bunch of staples from the Mario Kart franchise, such as power-ups, boosts, banana peels, and even the dreaded blue shell.

The mod reorganizes the control scheme in order to allow for the movement required in a racing game, complete with slides, just like you would expect from an arcade racer.

So far, there is a single variation on Dota 2's iconic map available for players to race on, but there are more currently in the works.

You can have a deeper look at the map and its development process on the Steam forums, and you can download Dota Dash for free at D2Modd.in.
