Don't be scared when starting unranked All Pick games

Dota 2 has just received a brand new patch from developer Valve, introducing just a few small changes that should have a major effect on most players, including one that adds the alternating picking style from Ranked All Pick to normal matches.

Dota 2 had a phenomenal year in 2014, as its major global eSports tournament, The International 4, broke records in terms of prize pool, as millions upon millions of players pledged their money to reward some of the best teams out there.

Now, the game is set to begin 2015 with another major tournament in the form of the Dota 2 Asia Championship, but until then, a small update has just been released for the game across the Steam platform, via the official website.

There are just three tweaks included in the patch but they impact a lot of players. First up, the alternating picking style seen in ranked games will now be employed for one week in normal all pick matches. This means that players will have to take turns in order to pick their desired enemies, so no more waiting until the last moment to counterpick the enemy team.

What's more, the quick buy priority order has been revised for Power Treads, Arcane Boots, Butterlfy and Mjollnir.

Last but not least, custom icons for items and buffs are now shown only to the local user, in order to minimize confusion for other players.
