14 DAY TRIAL // Legendary games designer and technical expert John Carmack has confirmed that he's officially leaving id Software in order to work full time at Oculus Rift, the company behind the impressive virtual reality headset.
Carmack confirmed some time ago that he's acting as a director of technology for Oculus Rift but that he retains his own position at id Software.
Now, it seems that a decision had to be made and Carmack confirmed that he has stepped down from id Software in order focus on the Oculus Rift full time.
Apparently Carmack wanted to remain as a technical adviser but such a thing wasn't possible.
No other details were given by id Software or parent company Bethesda, according to AGB, so things are still a bit unclear.
