A statement from the chief executive officer of Disney suggests that the company is currently working on a new video game project, which will mix the characters that the company owns with those from movie developer Pixar.

VG247 cites Robert A. Iger saying that interactions between the two universes are the focus of the new projects, which will include mobile and online elements.

The interactive Disney division has posted a loss for the last four years and the executive believes that the new project has the potential to turn its fortunes around.

Disney has been teasing an unannounced project for a number of weeks, but so far the company has not offered a name for the new initiative or given any clear details on what fans can expect.

So far, the most successful Disney-based video games are the ones in the Kingdom Hearts collaboration with Square Enix, which have found a big audience on the Japanese market.
