After a few recent rumors, Disney has confirmed that it's closing down Junction Point Studios, the developer behind the Epic Mickey series.

Disney is currently focusing its efforts on the upcoming Disney Infinity title, which is set to deliver an experience similar to Activision's very popular Skylanders franchise, by combining real-life toys with virtual games.

Sadly, it seems that the company, in order to focus more on the new project, has decided to close down its internal Junction Point Studios, the developer behind Epic Mickey 1 and 2.

"It was with much sadness that we informed our teams today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios. These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and to align resources against our key priorities," Disney said, via AGB.

The studio, led by veteran games designer Warren Spector, impressed fans with the innovative Epic Mickey 1 and 2 but, unfortunately, both titles didn't exactly draw in as many people as Disney had hoped.
