Video game developer Blizzard announces that it will launch maintenance periods for Starcraft II, World of Warcraft and Diablo III at 3 AM Pacific Daylight Time on July 23.

The period of downtime is expected to last until 11 AM PDT and the fact that all titles are affected probably means that the core Battle.net structure will be taken offline for an eight-hour period.

Blizzard states via Twitter that, "#SC2 #Maintenance will begin tomorrow 7/23 from 3am PDT until approximately 11am PDT."

The studio has not offered information on why it is performing the maintenance.

Blizzard might be getting ready to upgrade some core part of its infrastructure in order to introduce new features for the games.

The company will deliver more information if the maintenance period is extended for some unforeseen reason.
