Diablo 3 is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and apparently Blizzard might eliminate the mandatory online connection requirement that was included in the PC and Mac versions of the role-playing dungeon crawler.

Diablo 3 came out on the PC and Mac platforms last year and, while the actual game was quite impressive, it caused owners a lot of problems due to its mandatory online connection requirement.

Now, after the game has been confirmed to appear on the PlayStation 3 and the next-generation PlayStation 4, it seems that Blizzard is going to drop this necessity for a constant online connection.

Speaking to GameTrailers via Eurogamer, Sony's John Hight has apparently confirmed that there's also an offline mode, while talking about the four-player co-op.

No other details have been given, but it's likely that Blizzard will drop the requirement of an internet connection in Diablo 3 for PS3 and PS4 in order to appeal to more console owners.
