Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3 won't be a launch-day game for the PlayStation 4 next-gen console and, judging by a recent interview, it's quite likely that an Xbox One edition is also in the works.

Diablo 3 came out last year for the PC and Mac platforms and, since then, Blizzard has been adapting the dungeon crawling experience for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, not to mention the PlayStation 4 next-gen device.

According to an interview with Diablofans, Blizzard has just received the dev kits for "next generation consoles," meaning that the game won't be a launch-day experience for the PS4.

Another mention of next-gen consoles also hints that an Xbox One edition of Diablo 3 is also in the works.

Diablo 3 is out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 3, while the next-gen edition of the RPG is coming in 2014.
