Blizzard has revealed a few more details about the long awaited improved loot system for Diablo 3 and how the patch containing it, codenamed Loot 2.0, will be released in the near future, although more actual details are going to be shared at BlizzCon 2013 in November.

Diablo 3 was released onto the PS3 and Xbox 360 yesterday, and the console editions have quite a few different improvements over the PC and Mac ones, including a better loot system to offset the lack of an Auction House.

The new loot mechanics will be released for the PC and Mac via a free update at some point in time, and, after Game Director Josh Mosqueira said on Twitter that the patch would arrive "soon," one of Blizzard's representatives clarified a few things on the Battle.net forums.

"We’ve no additional info to share about Loot 2.0 right now, including when those changes will be released, but we’ll definitely be revealing more and more in the coming weeks/months–so stay tuned! As the developers have noted, we’ll likely have more details to discuss at BlizzCon, as well."

BlizzCon 2013 will be held between November 8 and 9.
