Blizzard confirms that the Diablo 3 Era 2 is going to end tomorrow, April 5, whereas Era 3 kicks off immediately afterward, ahead of the Season 3 rollout on April 10.

Diablo 3 has been around for three years now, appearing first on PC and Mac platforms in 2012, and then on Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles in 2013. In 2014, the game got its Reaper of Souls expansion on PC, as well as its Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition re-release on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

Since then, the studio has organized all sorts of in-game activities for players, including seasons filled with fresh loot that encouraged fans to replay through the role-playing dungeon crawler.

After having confirmed that Season 3 would start on Friday, April 10, worldwide, Blizzard now offers some fresh details about the game's Eras on the forums.

More specifically, Era 2 is set to end on April 5, right alongside Season 2. This means that all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings will be wiped, and players will be unable to attain new ranks until the next Era begins. Fortunately for active players, Era 3 begins immediately afterwards. Previous rankings will still be viewable in-game.

Players who had great Season 2 characters will be able to use them to climb the Era 3 leaderboards, as the end of that season means that they'll become non-seasonal characters.
