The Deus Ex: Human Revolution movie project is apparently getting closer to production, as CBS Films has revealed that Scott Derrickson, who has previously worked on Sinister or The Exorcism of Emily Rose, will direct the movie.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution delivered an impressive story back in 2011 starring Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT member who’s been augmented by his employer, Sarif Industries, with all sorts of impressive gadgets.

The game, which went on to be quite successful, was immediately picked up by CBS Films, which is very interested in turning it into a movie.

Now, the company has revealed, via Deadline, that Scott Derrickson, who horror fans will remember from Sinister or The Exorcism of Emily Rose, will direct the game and write its script alongside his Sinister co-writer, C. Robert Cargill.

Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh will produce, while John P. Middleton is going to be an executive producer.

As of yet, however, no actor has been cast for the movie, although you can expect some details to appear once a script is finished.
