Deus Ex: Human Revolution got a nice live-action fan-made short film, which actually looks good enough to share.

The film is based on the cult video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a first-person role-playing game set in a dystopian near future, where the increased incidence and degree of human augmentation is causing the world to fall apart, divided between corporations that strive to push the limits of humankind and concerned traditionalists who protest the trend.

The title has been well received by audiences and critics alike, and is a good example of a narrative-driven action game that offers both engaging gun play as well as more than one route to the finish, all set to the rhythm of a gripping story that challenges the very root of what it means to be human.

The difficulty with making such a film is that aside from the usual requirements of filmmaking, a science-fiction venture also needs considerable post-production resources in order to come out looking even halfway decent.

The movie shows the game's protagonist, Adam Jensen, attempting a rescue mission and taking on an entire army on his own. It also features in-game boss Yelena Fedorova, an augmented assassin, as well as the deadly Typhoon weapon, used to take down an opposing robot.

Overall, a pretty good job from a handful of people.
