A brand new report concerning the future of Destiny, Bungie's multiplayer first-person shooter, has appeared online, this time alongside a trademark filed by the studio for something called "The Taken King," which could be the third expansion for the online experience.

Destiny appeared in September on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Since then, Bungie has released multiple updates bringing new features and elements to the multiplayer shooter, as well as one major expansion, in the form of The Dark Below.

As the studio is gearing up for the second major add-on, House of Wolves, which launches this month, a report has arrived via NeoGAF, with a trademark filed by Bungie for "The Taken King."

No other details have been mentioned but this could be the name of the third expansion for Destiny, which was leaked earlier this year under the codename Comet.

The logo seen above might also tie into the Hive enemy faction, and the King could be the father of Crota, an already-famous Hive Prince who fought with players in The Dark Below.

No word yet from Bungie about its future plans for Destiny but you can expect to hear more about them once House of Wolves launches on May 19 for the online game on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
