One of the executives working on the marketing of the upcoming Destiny is also in charge of a monetization project at publisher Activision, which might mean that the shooter will have options for which players will have to pay extra to access.

The LinkedIn profile of Ryan Wener states that he is involved with “a wide variety of business and marketing issues, including: marketing strategy, product strategy, monetization modeling, partnership & business development, and more.”

Destiny is a high-profile shooter that will also introduce some role-playing elements, including character advancement and a focus on customization.

The monetization modeling might mean that players will need to pay small sums in order to access a number of cosmetic options.

Bungie is working on Destiny and is expected to launch the game on the PC, current-gen and next-gen devices before the end of the year.
