Horror movie icon John Carpenter believes that a movie adaptation of Electronic Arts' Dead Space series would be great, as the premise lends itself really well to the survival horror genre and can explore many different themes.

The Dead Space franchise has delivered some pretty impressive survival horror experiences through its three separate installments, not to mention the books and the animated movie that appeared for them.

Now, famous film director John Carpenter, who made cult classics like Dawn of the Dead or The Thing, believes the Dead Space series can deliver a great movie experience.

"I maintain that Dead Space would just make a great movie because you have these people coming onto an abandoned, shut-down space ship and they have to start it up and something's on board. It's just great stuff," the director told Game Informer, via CVG. "I would love to make Dead Space, I'll tell you that right now."

Dead Space 3 is the latest installment in the series but it didn't perform as well as EA had hoped.
