The multiplayer mode was apparently a sudden move and caused problems

Dead Space 3 Producer Chuck Beaver has confirmed that the cooperative mode featured by the game was actually introduced in the middle of production, which posed a significant challenge for Beaver and his team.

Dead Space 3 appeared earlier this year and had a campaign that supported players going through it solo as Isaac Clarke, but also alongside a friend, who embodied John Carver.

While the end result was pretty entertaining, as there were quite a few zones that could be accessed only by playing alongside another person, some fans still didn't approve of this new feature.

Speaking at a GDC panel that focused on creating stories while in challenging situations, Dead Space 3 producer Chuck Beaver said, according to Xbox360Achievements, that the co-op mode was introduced into Dead Space 3 in the middle of production.

This caused a significant challenge for Beaver and his team as they had to rework a lot of sections that were already completed.

As of yet, EA hasn't commented on this statement.
