Deep Silver has confirmed that an error with the Steam service that caused Dead Island: Riptide codes to offer users copies of Dark Souls instead has just been fixed.

Dead Island: Riptide was released this week all around the world, but it seems that quite a few peculiar issues appeared today, April 26, when the game was put on sale across Europe.

Apparently, customers in the UK and Scandinavia found that the redeemable codes contained in retailer versions of Dead Island: Riptide for the PC gave them on the Steam service not a copy of the actual game but, instead of that, a version of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.

A Deep Silver representative has confirmed on the game's Steam forums that the issue has been fixed and that all retail codes will now give the correct game when activated on Steam.

Those who have already done that and got Dark Souls are asked to contact Steam support and the representatives will make sure Riptide is added to their account.
