Dean Hall, aka Rocket, the creator of the DayZ mod says that his upcoming standalone game will get content updates each week, with players able to get access to new weapons and items on a regular basis.

All the equipment has been remade from scratch in order to use a new inventory and attachment system.

On the official blog for the game, the developer states, “This means that, on release, there will be less weapons in the standalone – but it allows us the ability to continue each week to release content updates with new weapons and items.”

The same varied approach will be linked to the clothes that characters can wear and the food they need to get to stay alive.

DayZ Standalone will be launched later during the year, allowing gamers to create a character and then survive for as long as possible on the zombie-infested island.
