A sequel for the challenging RPG will be released in the future

The 2012 Video Game Awards saw the reveal of a variety of impressive trailers for already announced games but From Software took the chance to reveal an impressive cinematic video that confirms Dark Souls 2, the next installment in the hardcore RPG series.

Japanese developer From Software managed to earn the admiration of millions of RPG fans with its last two titles, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, which delivered extremely challenging gameplay that only rewarded nothing short of perfection.

Now, the studio has confirmed during the 2012 VGAs that a Dark Souls 2 will be released in the future.

The reveal was made through an impressive cinematic trailer which, as of yet, hasn't been posted online.

The studio did reveal, via its Twitter, that Dark Souls 2 will be launched for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. No release date was given, however, so you'll still have to make do with the last two games.
