The team at Valve in charge of the International tournament for DOTA 2 is announcing that the qualifying phase for the competition will start this week and that gamers can both watch matches and make predictions about the results in their Compendiums.

The blog post explains that on Monday, May 25 qualifying matches for the America region will start at 17 PM Greenwich Mean Time and China action will kick-off at 2 AM GMT.

On Friday, May 29 gamers will also be able to see European matches at 10 AM GMT and Asian qualifiers starting at 2 AM GMT.

Valve states, "The winners of each qualifier will be given a direct invite to The International, while each of the second place teams will battle it out for the final two invites."

Qualifying matches for The International for DOTA 2 can be watched on streaming service Twitch, and Valve is offering English, Russian and Chinese commentary.

The finals will take place from August 3 to August 8 in Seattle, with the best teams in the world competing for the top position.

Until then gamers can contribute to the prize pool for The International via the Compendium.
