The former leader of 38 Studios said that, after the problems that the firm faced, he is forced to deal with a tough family situation, as all the money that he earned playing baseball is now probably gone.

Speaking to WEEI Sports Radio, the former star player stated that “The employees got blindsided. They have every right to be upset. I always told everybody if something were going to happen, you’re going to have a month or two of lead time, and I bombed on that one in epic fashion.”

Schilling also says that 38 Studios was ready to have a deal worth 35 million dollars (27.8 million Euro) in order to deliver a sequel for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

The deal was scuttled when the Governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln Chaffe, revealed the problems that the company was facing.

38 Studios is in bankruptcy and owes more than 150 million dollars (119.4 million Euro) to 1,000 entities.
