The former Free Radical team would love to go back to its franchise

Crytek UK, the studio formerly known as Free Radical, would love to make a new TimeSplitters game but, right now, it's focusing on Homefront: The Revolution.

Free Radical brought forth a lot of classic games many years ago, including the outlandish TimeSplitters series. However, after a few failed projects, it got close to bankruptcy. Fortunately, Crytek bought the company outright, renamed it into Crytek UK, and tasked it with creating Homefront: The Revolution, a new shooter.

Even so, the team still has a lot of love for the TimeSplitters series and this is definitely among the things it would love to do after the release of the new Homefront title.

"In the studio it's held very dear. It's just waiting for the right situations and deals to be done. I'm not privy to that, but from everybody working at the studio - everyone, whenever we say what would you like to do next, it's TimeSplitters," Crytek UK's Mark Jackson told TotalXbox.

"So yeah, there's a lot of love for it. But I couldn't say where that goes, or who pulls the strings to make that happen, or when it would happen, but it's certainly not something that people dismiss."

Crytek did acknowledge the desire for a new TimeSplitters game after it bought Free Radical, but it seems that such a project is still impossible right now.
