Crytek, the developer of the successful Crysis first-person shooter series, has revealed that Crysis 3 is not in development right now for the Wii U, denying previous rumors and speculation on the subject.

Crysis 3 is set to introduce a new chapter in the shooter series, with Crytek polishing its already impressive CryEngine 3 technology and promising an even more intense and visually stunning experience.

Based on statements from one of Crysis 3's producers, however, it seemed that the game might also make its appearance on the Nintendo Wii U platform, not just the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.

This has now been officially denied by Crytek's Games Division Manager, Nick Button-Brown, who has revealed on Twitter that, "Just to answer the speculation, we are not currently working on a wii U version of Crysis 3."

The executive made no mention about the mystery Wii U project currently being made by Crytek, so who knows what the studio is planning for the new home console.
