The development team at Relic and publisher SEGA are delivering a launch trailer for their upcoming The Western Armies standalone expansion for Company of Heroes 2, which is set to be launched in all territories on June 24.

The footage is designed to show players the quiet moments that real-world soldiers experience and the speed with which destruction can then take over the battlefield.

The Western Armies is designed to introduce gamers to two new forces that they can control, the United States and the OKW of the German Army.

Both of them will come complete with new units, more commanders that can be used on the field and new powers to launch against their enemies.

The United States is designed to focus on slow advances that are backed by powerful artillery and other support troops, while the new German forces are made up of veteran units who have access to a variety of heavily armored but expensive tanks.

Relic has said that all those who own the original Company of Heroes 2 will be able to fight online against those who only pick up The Western Armies and will be allowed to use the maps that are added to the series.
