The development team at Relic and publisher SEGA are delivering the first gameplay video for their new Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front, the standalone expansion for the real-time strategy title that will expand the number of armies that gamers will be able to use.

The video shows gameplay taken from the title and features information coming direct from the developers on the main features of the new content.

VG247 says that Relic is also exploring the idea of creating a World War I inspired title at one point or even try to follow a single soldier through one of the worldwide conflicts.

Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front will introduce the United States Army to the game and will also allow gamers to control troops of the German Oberkommando West.

Each of the new factions comes complete with new generals, more units, weapons and vehicles and each will require different battlefield strategies.

Company of Heroes 2: The Western Front will also introduce eight new multiplayer maps and an interesting progression system for the gamer.

The content is set to be launched in the fall of this year and Relic says that the core game will also get a number of updates.
