The development team at Relic is offering fans of the Company of Heroes franchise a new video linked to the coming real-time strategy sequel, while also setting the date for a closed beta stage for the title for some time after Christmas.

The video shows developers Brett Pascal, Greg Wilson, Jasen Torres and Rob Westwood talking about the core gameplay elements of the game, specifically the new TrueSight system that changes the way units spot and engage enemies on the battlefield.

There’s also some information on how the team plans to simulate the specific elements of the Eastern Front of World War II, accompanied by in-game clips.

A limited number of players will be able to take part in a stress test for Company of Heroes 2 during the current week, ahead of the more extensive beta.
