Virtual reality is currently having a big moment and it seems that both the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus might soon be used to play full movies created specifically for them, in addition to being used for video games.

Jaunt is a new company which managed to raise a lot of money from investors by promising to develop all the technology required to shoot complex movies that can easily be played using the VR headsets.

Arthur van Hoff, the chief technology officer at the company, is quoted by Recode as saying that, “We have to invent a whole new language of storytelling for this medium. That’s actually one of the more interesting parts of this project, the technology to drive this. But the content part is something that we need to invent as well.”

Apparently, the company believes that shorter movies are the best idea for virtual reality and they plan to show demos as soon as possible.

So far, Jaunt has only worked on the Oculus Rift, but it plans to also develop for the Project Morpheus device when Sony makes oe available to the public.

Both virtual headsets will be launched before the end of the year and will work on the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
