The strategy title is designed to offer a level playing field

Bryan Farina, a producer working on the reboot of Command & Conquer, says that his team will make sure that those gamers who are willing to pay for the strategy experience will not have any unfair advantage over their free-to-play enemies.

In a Q&A session on the official site, the Victory Games developer states, "Anything that has gameplay affect can be gained through nothing more than playing the game."

He adds, "Real money can be used to speed up the progress on progression or to acquire something (like, say, a general) faster."

Farina believes that gamers will find the business model familiar because it's the same as that of most other free-to-play titles on the Western market.

Command & Conquer will be launched in the fall of 2013 and will initially focus on player versus player matches before adding a single-player component.
