The development team at Victory Games is announcing that the rebooted Command & Conquer will get access to a number of story-based single-player missions starting with 2014, allowing players to complete a narrative that uses all the three factions.

Matt and Jason, two of the developers working on the strategy title, took to the stage at the Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany to reveal the new game mode.

The content will be offered for free to all those who access the game.

It’s unclear whether the Victory Games team plans to create any sort of connection between the multiplayer meta-game and the single-player missions.

The new Command & Conquer is designed to use the Frostbite 3 engine and will allow players to select from a number of generals and their unique abilities.

The game is now in alpha stage and will get into beta during the fall.
