The development team at Victory Studios and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that the reboot of Command & Conquer that they have been working on is now canceled because the feedback coming from the fan base was not positive.

In a message posted on the official site of the game, the companies explain that, during the alpha testing, it became clear that the game mechanics that the strategy experience was delivering were not those wanted by the community.

The studio says, "after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve."

Information from inside Victory Studios suggests that the developer is also being disbanded.

It's unclear whether Electronic Arts has plans to try to create another reboot of the classic Command & Conquer franchise.
