The future of games is linked to rapid content delivery and fan communities

Cliff Bleszinski, the former public face of the Gears of War franchise, says that he does not have plans to launch any other disc-based game in the future and that the title he is working on is designed to create a tightly knitted player community.

He tells Gamasutra that, “The trend will always be the core. If I start a studio, I want a community manager there day one. I want weekly video or podcasts; I want task lists available on the subreddit.”

He believes that most high-profile developers of the moment are part of an old guard that is moving slowly to embrace the new trends in gaming, including constant fan interaction and quick content delivery.

Since he left Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski has been teasing work on a new game, but he has not yet offered any details on its mechanics or the story he wants to tackle.
