Cliff Bleszinski, one of the main developers behind the Gears of War series, says that he is currently working on a classic, PC-based arena shooter and that he currently has a very good idea of the kind of experience he wants to create.

Gamasutra quotes the former Epic Games leader as saying that, “It'll be on the PC. It'll be a PC experience that hearkens back to a certain kind of game that we cut our teeth on. A first-person shooter. I don't think a lot of these kids playing Call of Duty know what a proper arena shooter is.”

It’s unclear whether the developer is interested in using a classic studio structure to create the shooter or whether he will use Kickstarter to get support from his fan base.

Since Bleszinski left Epic Games, he has commented on the evolution of the video game industry and suggested that he no longer wants to be involved with the old guard of gaming.
