The development team at Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced that they plan to launch Cities: Skylines on March 10 of this year on the PC and delivered a beautiful new trailer to celebrate the reveal.

The footage shows some of the core ideas of the title in action, with its impressive city development tools and its focus on the way each decision the player makes will influence the lives of the citizens they lord over.

Paradox also says that Cities: Skylines is now available for pre-order, with those who are willing to pay for it before launch able to get access to some extra content.

The Basketball Court, Botanical Gardens, Merry-go-round, Bouncy Castle and Dog Park can be used to customize their cities and they also receive a digital art book which offers blueprints for buildings and other concept art.

Finally, pre-orders for Cities: Skylines also bring four digital postcards.

Since it was announced, the title from Colossal Order has been named as a worthy competitor for the new SimCity, with more of a focus on classic city building mechanics and with a wide range of tools that allow gamers to make their vision for the ideal settlement become reality.
