Paradox Interactive released a brand new video from its upcoming city sim, Cities Skylines, offering an outlook on infrastructure building.

The publisher unveiled the new city sim back in August as Gamescom, as a follow-up to Cities in Motion, the transport-focused simulation. The game is being developed by Colossal Order, and offers gamers complete freedom when it comes to laying down the foundations and infrastructure of their future metropolis.

Cities Skylines will enable fans of SimCity and other such in-depth city builders to scratch that urban development itch, and the new video offers a good chunk of gameplay, complete with relevant commentary, meant to highlight the basic tools that players can make use of when planning their urban sprawl.

The game seems to be designed really well, and in addition to having pleasant visuals that make the city come to life, it can also offer you detailed views that help you assess which areas need your attention right away and what could potentially become a problem later on.

Another neat feature of the upcoming city builder is the ability to import your own assets into the game and use them to fashion a city themed around pretty much everything that comes to mind.

Cities Skylines is expected to come out sometime in Q1-Q2 2015.
