The Chinese government seems to have decided to make Valve’s DOTA 2 a priority in the video game field, creating and sponsoring a national team and announcing that a big new tournament for the MOBA will be organized later in 2013.

The Chinese competition will be hosted by the Zhejiang Daily Newspaper in conjunction with Gamefy, a specialist eSports broadcaster.

The Chinese national DOTA 2 team will be sponsored by the Chinese Administration of Sport, which plans to encourage interest in the game at a grassroots level.

The competition will be broadcast simultaneously across a number of digital platforms.

DOTA 2 is one of the biggest Multiplayer Online Battle Arena titles in the gaming world.

The most important tournament for teams is The International, which is organized directly by creators at Valve.
