Square Enix is planning to launch Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's first expansion next month. The content pack, titled Heavensward, comes with a lot of new content, including new jobs and dungeons for players to adventure in.

The developer has released a neat showcase trailer meant to let players of its MMO get a glimpse of some of the upcoming dungeons in Heavensward, highlighting some of the unique and gorgeous environments that they will be able to explore next month.

There is a wealth of new content coming, including a brand new playable race, the Au Ra, the proud progeny of dragons. In addition to this, three new jobs will be added, in the form of the Dark Knight, Astrologian and Machinist. The existing ones will also get some serious changes, most of which will occur as players get from level 50 to 60.

Heavensward will also expand the playable area of the game, enabling users to explore a greater portion of Eorzea. The main story will focus on the thousand-year old conflict between Ishgard and Dravania, but there will also be numerous secondary quest lines for players to pursue.

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is expected to debut on June 23, headed to PC and to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 home consoles from Sony. The release of the expansion will also mark the launch of the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game on the Mac platform.
