Dave Cox, the leader of the United Kingdom division of Konami, says that the company is thinking about a High Definition launch for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate in the coming years.

The executive tells CVG that, “We created everything in high definition – all the textures, all the levels, high-poly models, everything – and we kind of shrunk it all down into the 3DS.”

He adds, “At MercurySteam we have an HD version of the game sitting there in a computer somewhere.”

Cox also says that Konami wants to get Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate to as many players as possible and that can only be achieved if the game moves to home consoles and the PC, presumably via digital distribution.

The 3Ds version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate will be out in early March.
