Video game publisher Capcom says that it has no long term plans to revisit franchises like Dino Crisis or Onimusha, preferring to focus on the creation of new and innovative game universes.

Masachika Kawata, a producer working on Resident Evil, tells VideoGamer that, “Capcom has obviously never shied away from bringing back our older IPs to new generations, but I do think it’s more important for us to focus on creating new IP as we move forward.”

Capcom recently asked fans about their favorite titles from the past of the company, which many saw as a sign that the publisher was getting ready to remake at least some of them.

Capcom has seen its bottom line affected by the smaller than expected sales of high-profile games like Resident Evil 6 and is currently analyzing how to best push the series forward.
