Call of Duty Online, the free-to-play version of the long-running first-person shooter series made for the Chinese market, has just received a special commercial starring none other than Hollywood actor Chris Evans, famous for roles like Captain America in Marvel's stellar franchise.

Call of Duty games rake in billions of dollars every year with installments that delight tens of millions of fans from all over the world across many platforms.

However, in China the series hasn't had the same amount of success, as free-to-play games and online experiences are much more popular in the Asian country.

As such, publisher Activision has teamed up with Chinese giant Tencent to create Call of Duty Online, a free-to-play online shooter that takes some of the best elements from the series so far.

Now, in order to promote the actual game, Activision has resorted to a live-action commercial, just like for full-fledged releases in the franchise, and it's also decided to bring in Hollywood actor Chris Evans.

In the footage below, you can check out a team of four Chinese players venturing into action, while being helped by Evans.

The end of the video also features plenty of gameplay footage from the actual Call of Duty Online experience, so you can also admire the multiplayer shooter in action.

As of yet, there are no plans to bring Call of Duty Online to western markets like North America or Europe.
