Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the Nintendo Wii U won’t support the Call of Duty Elite online service, at least at its launch, but the publisher is hoping that this will change after its release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is one of the biggest games set to appear next month and lots of shooter fans are eagerly expecting it on the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360 platforms, as well as on the upcoming Nintendo Wii U home console.

Unfortunately, it seems that Wii U owners might not get the full Call of Duty experience, as Black Ops 2 on their platform won’t support, at least at its launch, the Elite online service.

"We are currently evaluating options for Call of Duty Elite to support Nintendo's Wii U game system, however Call of Duty Elite for Call of Duty: Black Ops II will not support this platform when the game launches,” an Activision spokesperson told Kotaku.

Black Ops 2 on the Wii U will be released on November 18, right when the console starts rolling out in territories like North America or Europe.
