The Game Director of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, David Vonderhaar, has revealed that the Kinect might be eventually used by the game as a video camera for when players set up live streams.

Black Ops 2, as a first for the series, features the option to live stream gameplay footage through YouTube.

What’s more, owners of the game can even broadcast footage with themselves, provided they have a compatible camera.

Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar reveals that the currently supported cameras in Black Ops 2 are the Vision on the Xbox 360, the Eye on PS3, and most USB cameras on the PC.

The developer also notes that the team is examining the possibility of using the camera from the Kinect sensor to broadcast images.

“I know a lot of you probably have a Kinect, but it is still be evaluated as a video camera for the feature. More on that later,” he wrote on Twitter.

It Treyarch succeeds, then the Kinect would become even more attractive to Call of Duty fans.
