The development team at Treyarch and publisher Activision are launching a double experience weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, running from September 20 to the 23, in order to celebrate the launch of the Apocalypse content on the PlayStation 3 and the PC.

The double XP matches are available for those interested in multiplayer on all platforms and the DLC will be introduced on September 26.

The team states in the official announcement that, "Apocalypse marks Treyarch's fourth and final DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, capping-off the year with two all-new Multiplayer Maps, two re-imagined fan- favorite Multiplayer classics, and an alternate-reality Dieselpunk Zombies experience that transports players to the undead-infested trenches of a World War I battlefield."

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has continued to sell well all through the year thanks to the regular delivery of new content from Treyarch.

Activision and Infinity Ward are getting ready to launch Call of Duty: Ghosts on November 5.
