Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that no Nintendo Wii U version is in the works, attributing this decision to Activision, the game's publisher and franchise owner.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is this year's big entry into the extremely popular first-person shooter franchise. At Gamescom 2014, developer Sledgehammer Games showcased quite a lot of new things about the title and how it revolutionizes the traditional Call of Duty multiplayer experience by adding new features like exoskeletons and other such mechanics.

However, the studio continues to say that Advanced Warfare is coming only to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, leading some Wii U owners to worry about the chances of seeing the first-person shooter on their own platform.

Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey has answered these worries on Twitter and confirmed that no Wii U version of Advanced Warfare is in development.

He attributes this decision to Activision, the game's publisher, although no exact reason was given, particularly since all recent Call of Duty titles appeared on Nintendo's home console.

His wording also leaves out the chances of seeing a port of the game from Treyarch, the studio that usually handled all the Wii U versions of past Call of Duty games.

Advanced Warfare launches this November worldwide.
