Video game developer CCP says that the core nature of its recently launched Dust 514 shooter makes it easy to port it to the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PC and even next-gen consoles.

At the same time, the team is currently content with the way the game is performing on the PlayStation 3 and appreciates the support coming from platform holder Sony.

Hilmar Petursson, the chief executive officer at CCP, is quoted by VG247 as stating, “Right now we have a player base and that player base is on the PlayStation 3. They love playing the game, they’re giving us fantastic feedback and it’s more about sticking with them on this journey, delivering on our mission, rather than to go and try and spread it out over other platforms now.”

Throughout the coming 12-month period, the company will continue to deliver extra content and mechanics for Dust 514 in order to make it more appealing to the 80 million strong install base of the PS3.

The shooter is free-to-play and integrated with the PC MMO EVE Online.
