Gearbox Software has announced that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection has gone gold, ready to stock the shelves of a retailer near you.

The special new-gen bundle includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, together with all the donwloadable content released for the two games so far. Not only that, but the bundle will come with some new and exciting content, and will also enable users to carry their old-gen characters to the new platform, making sure that nobody loses any progress.

Needless to say, the transfers will only be possible between devices in the same family, meaning that Xbox 360 players will be able to carry their progress to the Xbox One, and PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita players will move their saves to the PlayStation 4.

The saves will have all inventory, badass points, weapon slots, and other character rewards like money and resources, as well as all the unlocked character customization options.

Furthermore, The Handsome Collection will also ship with four-player split-screen multiplayer, for the first time in the series' history.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is coming out on March 24 in North America and March 27 in the rest of the world, headed to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony and the Xbox One home console from Microsoft.
