Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox Software has officially confirmed that it's working on various downloadable content packs for its popular shooter, including one that will increase the level cap above the current limit of 50, and one that adds a sixth playable character.

Borderlands 2 came out in September and developer Gearbox quickly released several expansions for the game, which brought fresh adventures, like the Captain Scarlett, Mr. Torgue, and Sir Hammerlock add-ons, but also ones that added new things, like a fifth playable character, in the form of the Mechromancer.

Now, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has revealed on Twitter that his team is working on new downloadable content that will increase the level cap, currently set at 50, and add a new character, in the form of a sixth vault hunter.

Pitchford notes that the new DLCs won't be included in the ones covered by the Season Pass, so at least one more story-based expansion is set to arrive until this summer.
